About NEI Collective:
The Northeast India Collective is an initiative led by Acumen Fellows from the Northeastern region of India, with support from Acumen India, a global nonprofit that invests in social enterprises focused on addressing poverty. The Collective is dedicated to tackling the unique challenges faced by the Northeast, a region with distinct socio-economic and cultural dynamics. With guidance and mentorship from Acumen India, the Collective aims to unite diverse stakeholders—including local organizations, Social entrepreneurs, funders, and community leaders—to collaboratively develop sustainable, impactful solutions for the region's communities.
Position Summary
The Program Manager role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who is passionate about advancing the Northeast India Collective's vision of building a network of organizations, leaders, social entrepreneurs, and funders. The role focuses on addressing the distinct challenges faced by the Northeastern region of India through collaboration and collective action. Key responsibilities include establishing strategic partnerships, exploring innovative solutions, and fostering cooperation among diverse stakeholders to enhance impact across the region. The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the collective’s mission to create sustainable and meaningful change in Northeast India
Key Role and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Steering Committee and collective members to shape and implement the
overall strategy and goals, ensuring alignment with the collective's vision. - Stakeholder Engagement: Lead the coordination of engagement with collective members, partners, and other key
stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive initiatives forward. - Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of collective activities, including meeting
minutes, progress reports, and relevant communications. - Communications & Outreach: Develop and manage the collective’s communication strategies through social media,
websites, and other channels to amplify its impact and visibility. - Partnership Development: Prepare and present impact reports, proposals, and updates to the Steering Committee and
potential partners, highlighting key achievements and opportunities for collaboration. - Project Management: Facilitate the collective’s initiatives by coordinating backend operations, managing communications, organizing meetings, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items to keep projects on track.
- Fundraising Support: Assist collective members in securing funding for the sustainability of the collective secretariat, identifying opportunities, and drafting proposals when needed.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure that all collective operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, especially regarding employment laws and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, MSW or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the development sector, preferably supporting the
Founder’s office within a social enterprise. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with
different stakeholders. - High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus
