About OBLF:
One Billion Literates Foundation (OBLF) was founded in 2010 as a registered charitable organization, for the purpose of bettering the lives of under-privileged communities in rural areas - especially through quality education, engagement & empowerment of women in these communities via skilling and employment, and healthcare.
Our mission is to achieve this via
(a) Early, Foundational and Primary Education for under- privileged children of Rural Government Primary Schools,
(b) Training, create teaching capacity & allied professional skills in semi-educated rural women from the same communities & villages - and employing them to teach in these schools,
(c) Community rehabilitation programs, and
(d) Enabling primary healthcare access for severely marginalized rural communities.
The Foundation currently works with more than 7000 children in 100+ rural government primary schools; it also works with multiple severely marginalized migrant communities in areas of education, health, life-skills, and adult literacy, and also runs comprehensive primary health care programs in rural areas currently touching the lives of more than 15,000 people. Our programs create capacity and employ close to 100 women from the rural communities we work with.
Project Elevate and it’s expansion to Yadgir and Raichur:
Project Elevate is the flagship education program that has been operational in the government primary schools in Anekal Taluk for 14 years now. Over the years the program has been adapted to serve the context of underserved communities we work with in the best possible way. This year we have been privileged to partner with Samagra Shiksha Karnataka, Department of Education, Karnataka to expand this program to the government schools in the aspirational districts of Yadgir and Raichur starting from the academic year 2025-26.
NOTE: This role is based out of Yadgir/Raichur. Candidates must be willing to relocate to either of the districts, travel between districts often and to Bangalore where the HO is based for whole staff training/meetings once a quarter.
Responsibilities:
As the Program Manager for Project Elevate at Yadgir and Raichur your mission will be to drive continuous, sustainable and quality implementation of all aspects of the program by interacting with and enabling key stakeholders in the ecosystem. Your main responsibilities will include -
Program Management:
1. Design the program strategy, priorities, and outcomes
2. Develop a comprehensive project plan outlining scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and risks.
3. Design processes and systems for effective implementation of the program in consultation with the M & E Lead
4. Work closely with the Program officer to ensure smooth operations.
Training and Development:
1. Identify training needs, design training strategy and develop a training framework for English Language and Pedagogy (General and content specific).
2. Work with the training team/consultants to design training sessions and facilitate them.
3. Visit partner schools regularly to support teachers through classroom observations and one-on-one feedback.
Project Management:
1. Document and manage critical project timelines
2. Create and update process documents periodically.
People Management:
1. Work with the Program Manager responsible for the field operations of the project
2. Train and coach, the program officer toward achieving success in their role
3. Train and coach teachers on the field to reflect on and adapt teaching practices according to students’ needs.

Partnership Management:
1. Identify and manage external partners required for training the teachers
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders like HM, CRP, BRC and BEO and other NPO partners in the district
3. Create and communicate monthly and quarterly reports to various stakeholders.
4. Facilitate field visits for key stakeholders as required.
Role Requirements
Must Have:
1. Graduate Degree + 3 to 5 years of experience in the education sector with at least 2 years of teaching experience (preferably in a Government school in Karnataka).
2. Experience in designing teaching plans/training sessions and collaterals.
3. Experience building and managing relationships and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
4. Willingness to relocate to Kalburagi and to commute between Yadgir and Raichur
5. Willingness to travel to Bangalore project site for immersion and learning as required.
6. Committed and passionate about working for a social cause.
7. Reading and speaking proficiency in Kannada.
8. Ability to facilitate training in Kannada.

4. Experience in designing and facilitating English Language Proficiency training for adults.

• Remuneration: 6 - 7L based on relevant experience [+Travel Reimbursement]
