About Muheem Leader Fellowship

The Muheem Leader Fellowship is a two-year full-time teaching fellowship where Fellows are placed in local village communities as teachers for a group of 25+ children. Fellows are responsible for building foundational learning skills, ensuring strong holistic learning outcomes, and fostering investment in education within the community. This role involves strategies such as home visits and parent-teacher meetings to build meaningful relationships with children and community members.

The fellowship is designed to cultivate leadership through a challenging and rewarding experience.

Position Summary

Reporting to: Director and Co-Founder
Direct Reports: 10 Fellows
Salary: ₹4,20,000 to ₹4,80,000 per year, based on experience

Program Managers are pivotal in supporting and developing Fellows across villages. They act as coaches and managers, driving excellence in the classroom and fostering a positive team culture.

Responsibilities include training, collaboration facilitation, classroom observation, feedback provision, and team management.

Responsibilities

As an Instructional Coach:

  • Coach and manage Fellows to achieve ambitious student outcomes and develop leadership skills.
  • Provide feedback on lesson plans and assessments to help Fellows understand their students better.
  • Observe classroom activities and conduct debriefs to drive reflective practice and strengthen execution.
  • Design and facilitate experiential leadership sessions for Fellows.

As a People Manager:

  • Establish performance management systems to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Develop support plans based on individual Fellow needs.
  • Drive engagement, growth, and retention through data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation to continuously improve program effectiveness.
  • Build and execute a culture strategy aligned with organizational values.
  • Facilitate shared learning and accountability within the team.

As a Manager at Muheem:

  • Contribute to team goals and organizational priorities beyond individual responsibilities.
  • Advocate for Muheem’s work and educational equity in rural Uttar Pradesh.
  • Support organizational priorities including Institute, Selection, Curriculum Design, and Volunteer Management.
  • Enforce adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Expectations

  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant professional experience, including mandatory teaching experience.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Hindi is required.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite; capability to implement Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage operations in high pressure environments and collaborate effectively.
  • Mindset: Proactive problem-solving, adaptability, and a collaborative approach.
  • Experience: Previous experience in rural areas or with adult learners is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Initiative: Demonstrated experience in leading teams and achieving goals.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Strong emotional intelligence, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Self-Awareness: Commitment to personal and professional development and a growth mindset.
