Key Responsibilities
The Program Leader will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health & nutrition-related programs within the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in health & nutrition program management, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving community health outcomes through panchayat led domain outcome model and will work collaboratively across teams to achieve program goals.
Convergence & Collaboration:
- Establish a convergence forum at the district and block levels, chaired by the District Magistrate or Block Development Officer and its monthly meeting. This forum will engage various departments, including Health, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Education, Jeevika, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI), and others, to enhance collaboration and convergence. The primary focus will be on achieving panchayat-led outcomes in the domains of health and nutrition.
- Also responsible to constitute Gram Panchayat Planning and Facilitation Team (GPPFT) in selected panchayats.
- Conduct regular meetings in those panchayats where GPPFT is already formed.
- Support to organize Gram Sabha in different panchayats on 26th January, 1st May, 15th August and 2nd October to create a buzz on People’s Plan Campaign.
- Provide support to develop Gram panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) in aligning with panchayat lead domain outcomes
- Collaborate with Block Development Officer, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), MOiC, BHM-NHM, Lady Supervisors, Block Panchayati Raj Officer (BPRO), Block Education Officer, BPM-Jeevika, Block Pramukh, Panchayat Sachiv, Mukhiya etc. on an ongoing basis to ensure effective implementation of program components.
Program Development and Management:
- Develop project implementation plan fortnightly, monthly and quarterly so that project can be implemented to achieve organizational goal.
- Design, implement, and manage health & nutrition programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Monitor program progress and outcomes, collecting evidence for ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Support to run different campaigns at different level as and when required. Eg World Population Day, World Contraceptive Day, Paribar Niyojan Diwas, Poshan Maha, National Newborn Week, Stop Diarrhoea Campaign etc.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with Hyperlocal Channels (NGO, SHG, Youth, Faith Leaders, Media), community partners, healthcare providers, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate and strengthening review meetings and workshops at different level to gather input and foster collaboration.
- Communicate program objectives and progress to stakeholders and the community.
Data Collection Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret different data (VHSND, MDR-CDR, Home Delivery, HMIS etc) to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Submission of monthly/quarterly/annual work-related plans and reports to District and State office. Support in strengthening the reporting /MIS under these programs
- Capture different success stories, prepare different report, write social media posts to show case program related achievements and outcomes.
- Utilize data to inform decision-making and program improvements.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- To handhold Gandhi Fellows during field visit on program intervention to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- To schedule minimum 3 to 4 days, debrief sessions in a week to get their reflection and track development progress of Gandhi Fellows.
- To Schedule capacity building sessions on various topics related to Programme intervention on monthly basis.
- Prepare Action plan for fellows on their areas of improvement on qauterly basis and supporting them in identified area of improvement.
- Lead and mentor stakeholders, hyperlocal channels, other program staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages innovation and collaboration.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align health initiatives with organizational priorities.
