The Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) is a not-for-profit research organization of health professionals and social scientists engaged in knowledge generation and knowledge translation for the prevention and control of non-communicable (chronic) diseases in varied settings of developing countries. CCDC has been recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. CCDC also holds recognition as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Surveillance, Capacity Building and Translational Research in Cardio-metabolic diseases.

Job Description

  • Responsible for coordinating on-site activities and ensuring the smooth operation of the Telemedicine component at two Mobile Health Units in Andhra Pradesh State (covering four districts Anakapalli, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam)
  • Required to travel between the four districts to cover project sites and ensure smooth project operations at the Mobile Health Units (MHU).
  • Responsible for coordinating all field-related research activities, including reporting, data collection, and other research support tasks from the field
  • Managing human resources and overseeing the supportive supervision of MHU staff.
  • Responsible for delivering capacity-building training to MHU staff in alignment with project requirements.
  • Conduct direct surveillance and site reviews to ensure the quality and appropriateness of project services.
  • Develop and implement the changes as necessary for the smooth functioning of the project.
  • Responsible to work with our key stake holders, local partners and ensure smooth operations at the MHU’s
  • Develop comprehensive reports on ongoing project and submit summary reports to management each month/weekly.
  • Responsible for providing administrative support to the secretariat team.
  • Create crisis management plans that can be executed in the event of a problem with the interior or exterior of the MHU’s.
  • Responsible for managing promotion and positioning of telemedicine services in the MHUs to improve footfall of patients.
  • Attend and participate in stakeholder meetings, and other meetings as needed.
  • Responsible for upkeep and maintenance for the Tele Medicine equipment’s in the MHU’s
  • Prepare and disseminate of an advanced program implementation including critical key activities and milestones, timelines, resources requirement and utilization plan for key components, structure/mechanism.
  • Identify bottlenecks, develop algorithms to keep track of process and progress of program.
  • Prepare and disseminate in-advance micro-plans for MHU staff for activities like conduction data collection, health education, outreach camps, doorstep consultations, community surveys at the MHU locations.
  • Conduct spot and random checks and monitoring field visits for quality assurance.
  • Draft project progress reports, as well as any other reports as per the requirement of the program or as designated by Program Manager.
  • Responsible for compiling all the project related data and report on regular basis to CCDC secretariat team.
  • Travel as and when required.
  • Any other work as assigned by the Supervisor/PI.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor or master degree in social work from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant social work experience in project implementation related to health components (preferably related to NCD programs).
  • A minimum of 4 years of work experience in the field.
  • Advanced technical skills in computers and IT are required to manage the project.
  • Experience in team management, overseeing operations, and conducting training programs.
  • Experience in organizing awareness programs within the community.
  • Fluency in English and Telugu is required. Proficiency in Hindi is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time for work.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
