About The Role
In this role, you will lead large engagements funded by CSR / philanthropic foundations. An example of such engagements could be leading a secretariat (PMU++) for a nationwide program focused on enabling economic empowerment for women. The program could involve 20+ nonprofit partners, 10+ state governments and multiple funders. The role requires acumen to analyze complex problems, manage program execution in line with strategic goals, manage diverse stakeholders and keep them aligned, and influence the program to the extent possible to drive meaningful change.While you may begin with leading one such engagement, the expectation is for you to be able to lead multiple engagements over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Own one or more consulting engagements and relationships end to end, from pre-sales to requirement gathering to solution design and implementation/execution
- Utilize appropriate frameworks and methodologies to assess the problem statement, and help the team improve their proficiency as consultants.
- Lead project planning, people management, convenings with key stakeholders (client, implementation partners, government, sector experts) and executive presentations hands on.
- Drive extensive research to help with solution design. Research could include landscaping studies, primary surveys, executive interviews, literature surveys and more.
- Contribute to building the team through hiring, capability building, training and relationships
- Lead ongoing development of thought leadership content through creation of reports, articles, podcasts etc.
- Actively contribute to pre-sales efforts by engaging with potential clients, developing high quality collateral and building proposals and pitches.
Requirements
- 15+ years of overall experience, with at least 10 years of consulting experience within well recognized firms. Experience in strategy consulting, operations consulting and program management is relevant. Experience in the social sector as well as in the larger business sector are both equally relevant.
- Demonstrated history of career growth and leadership positions with past employers, with exposure to multiple sectors within or outside the development space
- Prior experience in development consulting (health, education, livelihoods, climate action, government engagement, etc) would be highly preferred
- Top tier storytelling and presentation skills, backed by strong verbal and written communication
- Strong project planning and project monitoring capabilities
- Strong data analysis capabilities including high proficiency in excel / google sheets, comfort with data visualization tools (powerBI / data studio), and familiarity with simple statistical analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment and deliver within tight timelines, with a strong commitment to ethical practices, social justice, and advancing positive social outcomes.
