About the role
As we continue our mission in the Northeast Region, where we’ve been making a difference since 2016. Partnering with secondary schools and vocational training institutions (NGOS, ITIs), our dedicated team is committed to creating a meaningful impact on the ground, we’re seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our efforts in the Northeast Region. This role presents a unique opportunity to elevate our work to newer heights across the entire school-to-work continuum. Our focus is to ensure quality impact in the region while building a well performing team.
Key responsibilities include anchoring the regional growth model through building networks with key stakeholders from government bodies to civil societies. We dive deep into the issues facing young people in schools and vocational training, driving ecosystem support and partnership frameworks.

Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the Regional Strategy
- Lead the regional strategy, based on the region first approach.
- The core focus of the strategy would include undertaking local innovations based on the needs of the region as well as enabling CSOs and other key stakeholders to come together and drive collective action.
- The focus of the strategy would also include working towards supporting career transitions for young people and getting equipped with Tech & Green mindsets and skills.
- Further build the state strategies for some of the key states in the region, in line with the regional and org strategy
Execution of the strategy
- Form a partnership network with local CSOs to arrive at common vision of change for the region, undertake joint research, co-create solutions and drive collective action
- Create an innovation engine such that young people are able to think and drive local innovations around green, career decision making, STEM thought process, entrepreneurship with support from local partners
- Identify key narratives for the region and drive conversations and advocacy around those
- Implement programs across school to work continuum through working with Govt schools and TVET ecosystem in the region
- Undertake periodic meetups and consultation of for the partner network
- Represent Quest Alliance in all strategic forums in the region help by govt, civil society, donors etc across school to work continuum
- Support the team in project, Sub grants and budget management
- Support the team in new fundraising as relationship management with existing donors
- Ensure documentation of the work done and impact on the region to inform strategy, communication and reporting
Team Building & performance Management
- Build an integrated team across programs and ecosystems
- Strengthen Green and sustainability mindsets with the team
- Mentor the team on planning and execution of the tasks.
- Focus on culture building in the team and ensuring that every member in the team thrives
- Ensure that there are enough spaces created for dialogue and ongoing exchange between team members across the state on key learning, insights and best practices.
- Plan for the team learning calendar and other L&D initiatives for Team as required
- Build a performance driven and impact driven culture in the team
Reporting and Data Driven Decision Making
- Integration of output and impact lens in the way internal and external reporting is done. Drive the Data driven decision making, based thoughts process with the team and the partners
- Anchor the state review thought process, ensure reflection around data based insights which feed into improving on-ground implementation
- Making regular planned field visits and sharing observations and insights from those regularly
- Work with the monitoring and evaluation focal persons to develop monitoring and reporting systems aligned with Strategic Framework and donor requirement for the region
- Ensure all the relevant data for the region is available on time and the team is aligned to the thought process.
- Engage with monitoring and evaluation data to generate insights which contribute to improving regional strategy and implementation. Build the same mindset in the team.
Key Requirements
Experience and Skills Required
- In Depth knowledge and understanding of the NE Region: Has passion to make a difference in the Northeast Region. Has enough knowledge, understanding and experience of working in the northeast region.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven experience in anchoring state/regional-level strategies, keeping the aspirations of young people at the forefront. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute initiatives across the school-to-work continuum.
- Partnership Development: Track record of building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, and NGOs. Ability to identify and leverage opportunities for collaboration, advocacy, and resource mobilization.
- Program Design, Budget Management and Implementation: Extensive experience in designing and implementing programs aligned with organizational goals, national frameworks, and donor requirements. Ability to lead teams in delivering high-quality programs, ensuring alignment with program priorities and effective utilization of project funds.
- Relationship Building and Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the organization in strategic forums and engage with government officials, donors, and partners. Experience in driving engagement, advocacy efforts, and system change initiatives.
- Team Management and Development: Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and support team members in their professional development. Experience in fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and performance excellence within the team.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in driving data-driven decision-making processes, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting systems. Ability to analyze data insights to improve program implementation and inform strategic planning.
- Communication and Reporting: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to articulate program impact, insights, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. Experience in developing and implementing reporting systems aligned with organizational and donor requirements.
- Educational Background: A relevant postgraduate degree in social sciences, development studies, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission and values, flexibility to travel extensively within the region, and proficiency in relevant languages and computer applications.
Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 1,00,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
