About the organization

Founded in 1972 by Ela Bhatt, SEWA Bharat empowers women in India’s informal economy. With over 2.5 million members across 15 states, it is one of India’s largest non-profit organizations. Established in 1984, SEWA Bharat focuses on supporting women through rights advocacy, economic empowerment, education, health, and social security.

About the project

The Shrinkhala project enhances women’s access to social security, health services, financial tools, markets, and digital technology in Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Key initiatives include:

  • SEWA Shakti Kendras (SSKs): Local resource hubs bridging gaps between communities and government programs, educating women on health, finance, and rights.
  • Aagewaans Network: Grassroots leaders connecting communities to government welfare schemes and addressing local needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Train project field staff on data collection and reporting.
  • Assess project impacts using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Develop monitoring systems aligned with the theory of change.
  • Organize semi-structured interviews with women in project sites.
  • Provide timely data analysis for project coordinators.
  • Identify implementation challenges and propose solutions.
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
  • Manage tools/software for data collection and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Master’s degree in social sciences or equivalent experience.
    • Experience with data collection methodologies and tools.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong communication skills in English and Hindi.
    • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with grassroots communities.
    • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., NVivo, STATA, R Studio, Power BI).

Compensation:

₹6.0 - ₹7.2 LPA, based on experience.
