ABOUT ACCESS:
ACCESS Development Services is a national livelihoods promotion organization with focus on incubating innovations and sustainable models for livelihoods promotion of the poor. ACCESS has operations spread in 14 states, implementing large and niche programs both in the farm and the non[1]farm sector, supporting about 290,000 poor families. While ACCESS ids focused mostly in rural areas, it has a few innovative programs in urban locations as well. The target groups that ACCESS supports are small and marginal farmers, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, minority communities; with a special focus on women’s economic empowerment. While ACCESS has a full time staff of over eighty professionals, there is a large contracted cadre of over 250 that supports programs on the ground. Since 2016, greater emphasis is being given by the organization towards promoting the non-farm sector, given the dwindling prospects in the farm sector. Among the sub-sectors, ACCESS has been focusing on handmade textiles, handicrafts and agro-processing industries to enhance income of the primary producers and linking these small producers to the mainstream markets.
We are seeking applications for the position of a Senior Manager for coordinating non-farm programs implemented across various states of India with special focus on driving the marketing initiatives under various programs.
JOB SUMMARY:
Program Coordination:
• Provide programmatic support to the state teams/ project teams for effective implementation of ongoing non-farm projects and ensure the completion of project milestones within the planned timelines and budgets
• Special focus has to be on marketing efforts; centrally coordinate and drive all marketing interventions under various projects
• Oversee reports/ documents made under the project, and ensure timely submission
• Build strategy for monitoring & evaluation and help project coordinators in building appropriate processes and systems
• Monitor and review the progress of ongoing projects by regular visits to the project areas
• Ensure documentation of important interventions under projects; prepare case studies and success stories from field
Program Development:
• Develop/ support in preparing/submitting concept notes/ EoIs/ RFPs/ proposals on non-farm based projects to various prospective donors.
• Research, identify, and track funding opportunities
• Cultivate donor/government relationships in order to stay abreast of business opportunities and funding trends
• Work closely with the Programme Development team; Communications team, and others for developing project ideas in alignment with organizational strategy.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
• Multi-tasking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language is required
• Proven marketing skills, especially in the social marketing domain and marketing of non-farm products
• Good understanding of value chain development approach in the non-farm sector
• Proven ability to forge public and private sector partnerships
• Ability to develop concept papers, proposals, and budgets
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as lead teams
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Should be able to travel extensively to project areas/ across India
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• MBA / Post Graduate preferably in Rural Management or similar/ relevant subjects
• Total job experience of at least 6 years in relevant non-farm sector
▪ Experience in non-farm sector- at least 5 years
▪ Proven experience of marketing non-farm/ rural / handicraft products- at least 3 years
▪ Experience of working in value chain based non-farm projects- 3 years
• Experience of leading, managing and working in teams
• Should have been in a leadership position for at least 2 years
COMPENSATION:
Salary range in this position is commensurate to industry standards and will be determined based upon the experiences and fixed as per the HR policies of the organization.
