Virmani Education Trust

The Virmani Education Trust set up in the year 1916 currently runs 2 schools in North Delhi that caters to students from underserved communities while also providing scholarships to needy students to attend college. In addition to these programs, the Trust has been running over 400+ centers that provide literacy to women living in the slums of Delhi. Under the aegis of the Trust, we are proposing to launch an online education platform to help improve the English communication skills of students from government schools in Delhi with the help of retired educators.

We hope to integrate English language learning with important cultural and social messages to create a holistic educational experience.

The platform’s strength will lie in its volunteer network of retired educators, who bring years of teaching experience, wisdom, and dedication. Offering academic guidance and life lessons beyond textbook knowledge. Providing not only academic help but also emotional support, making students feel valued and understood.

We are looking for a dynamic and organized individual to help set up and manage the online platform, ensuring its successful launch and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of an online education platform focused on improving spoken English for government school students.
  • Collaborate with educators, developers, and content creators to develop and deliver an engaging curriculum that combines English language instruction with cultural and social learning.
  • Develop a user-friendly interface and experience that caters to the needs of both students and educators.
  • Coordinate the creation of activities that engage students in spoken English practice.
  • Ensure the inclusion of culturally relevant and socially responsible messages within the curriculum, aligning with the broader goals of the enterprise.
  • Manage the enrollment process for students and maintain records of participation and progress.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to educators and volunteers using the platform.
  • Monitor platform performance, gather user feedback, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure the platform aligns with the organization’s vision and mission.
  • Assist in marketing and outreach efforts to promote the platform among students, educators, and potential partners.

Qualification

  • Qualifications Graduate or postgraduate degree with at least 5-7 years’ experience. Knowledge of the education/ development sector is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple aspects of platform development.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and experience with English language instruction is a plus.
  • Familiarity with working in the nonprofit or social enterprise sector, particularly with underserved communities.
  • Technical skills in managing or working with online learning management systems (LMS), including basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams.
  • A passion for social impact, education, and empowering underserved communities.

Location

This role offers flexibility, with opportunities for remote or in-person work depending on location and organizational needs. The preferable location is Delhi with the flexibility to work remotely when possible.

Compensation

Up to 12 Lakhs per annum commensurate with experience.
