Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS)
Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) is a non-profit social impact organization in the forefront of addressing national concerns in disaster response, water conservation, health and social development. It has been a lead player in relief and rehabilitation efforts during all major disasters in India and its neighbourhood since 1993. With its ability to mobilize volunteers across the country, BJS has created sensitized task forces to undertake relief and rehabilitation work.
It has also recognized the need for educational rehabilitation of disaster-affected children by providing them residential education. To mitigate devastating long-term effects of drought on communities, BJS has implemented large-scale drought mitigation programs, rejuvenating more than 13,000 large waterbodies and creating massive water storage capacities. At present, BJS in partnership with NITI Aayog is engaged in scaling this program in aspirational/water-stressed districts of the country.
Recently, during COVID-19 pandemic, BJS responded with programs that touched more than 2.5 million people across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and several other states through doorstep health checks, COVID testing, awareness campaigns, support for COVID vaccination, oxygen support to patients, and by strengthening COVID-resilience in villages.
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Learning and Development Specialist with 4-5 years of experience to design and implement training programs that enhance the skills of our members and volunteers, aligned with our organizational goals and Jain values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement educational programs that support community development and reflect Jain principles.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and events aimed at skill development.
- Conduct needs assessments through community engagement and surveys to identify educational priorities and requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop effective learning materials and tools.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Innovate with new educational technologies and methodologies to enhance learning experiences.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to learners, adapting strategies to meet diverse needs.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in educational training to continually improve our offerings.
Education & Expertise:
- Proven experience as a Learning and Development Specialist with a track record of designing and executing successful training programs.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Experience with online learning platforms and modern educational technologies.
- Understanding of, or experience with, Jain values and community needs is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Human Resources, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Certifications in professional training (e.g., CPLP, CPTM) are advantageous.
