Time: Full-time (working 5 days a week)

Remuneration: 2.64-3.0 lakh per annum, All staff benefits including EPF, health insurance and gratuity will be additional as per organizational policy)

About Sangath:

Sangath (www.sangath.in) is one of India's leading mental health research non-profit organizations. It was founded in 1996 with its headquarters in Goa; major hubs in Delhi and Bhopal, and programme sites in many parts of the country. Sangath's mission and expertise lies in developing and evaluating mental health interventions to be delivered through existing public systems. Its major thematic areas are: Child development and disability; adolescent health; mental disorders; and ageing. Sangath was awarded the prestigious MacArthur Foundation International Prize for Creative and Effective Institutions in 2008 and the WHO Public Health Champions Award for India in 2016. It has completed a number of randomized controlled trials for mental disorders in India, including the only two autism trials in the country.

About the Program:

Neurodevelopment and AutisM in South ASia Treatment and Evidence (NAMASTE) is a program by Sangath, an Indian not-for–profit working in the field of public health research for over 28 years. NAMASTE trains non-specialist health and care workers for early identification of neurodevelopmental delays and disabilities in children aged 1.5-9 years in selected districts in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

About the Role:

Sangath is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant - Community Engagement and Involvement (RA-CEI) for NAMASTE. The RA - CEI will be responsible for distribution of project materials to Anganwadi Workers, and monitoring and tracking dissemination in the community. This role will involve frequent travel and daily visits to Anganwadi centres across the East District, Delhi, with the second half of the day in the project office.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Training and supervision:

1. Provide support to team in training of Aganwadi workers at study site.

2. Provide one-on-one training to Aganwadi workers on usage of REDCap application.

3. Provide support with organizing and conducting community talks at Anganwadi Centres.

On-site research support and data collection:

1. Provide one-on-one support to Aganwadi workers in the study site.

2. Travel to Anganwadi Centres across East Delhi district for research study data collection and allocation.

3. Maintain inventory of training and data collection materials.

4. Support the functioning of the team at the research site in New Delhi.

Others:

1. Translation of documents from English to Hindi.

2. Support with qualitative and quantitative data collection.

3. Support with development of reports.

4. Carry out accurate, timely, and consistent entry of data.

5. Attend weekly/fortnightly meetings with the project team and assigned working group(s)

6. Participate in other Sangath activities.

7. Providing support to projects implementation, guaranteeing quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

1. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Public Health; Social Work; Psychology or related fields/discipline

2. Fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English

3. Prior experience of working in a similar role for a minimum of 1-2 years

4. Proficiency in using design platforms such as Canva

5. Good organizational and communication skills

Desirable:

1. Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.

2. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

3. Ability to work on tight deadlines.
