About the job role
The Health and Childcare Coordinator will oversee the design, coordination, and monitoring of health and childcare initiatives across SEWA Bharat’s operational states. The role ensures integration of health and childcare components into all SEWA Bharat programs, improving access to primary health and childcare services for informal women workers and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Program Design & Implementation
- Assess state-level progress on health and childcare initiatives for informal women workers.
- Develop programs tailored to the needs of women workers from diverse trades, geographies, and cultural contexts.
- Integrate health and childcare into all SEWA Bharat development programs as a part of social protection efforts.
Coordination & Monitoring
- Manage program activities across states, ensuring consistent documentation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Create and implement effective monitoring tools; build the capacity of state teams to use these tools efficiently.
- Evaluate program impact and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
Capacity Building
- Design and deliver training for state teams, field workers, and community leaders.
- Organize workshops to share best practices and innovative approaches to health and childcare.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with state and national health authorities, and strengthen partnerships with external organizations.
- Work closely with SEWA Bharat’s state teams to enhance program effectiveness.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare regular reports on program progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Document best practices and lessons learned to inform future programs.
- Ensure compliance with donor and stakeholder reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Early Childhood Development, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health or childcare program management, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Deep understanding of the needs of informal women workers.
- Expertise in program design, implementation, and impact evaluation.
- Strong skills in coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Willingness to travel frequently across India.
