Job Purpose
This role will be responsible for lead development, delivery and overall success of Reliance Foundations Education programs. This role would oversee new initiatives and projects particularly related to digital education and will be responsible to ensure appropriate programmatic and financial planning, and delivery of programme goals and financial management.
Roles & Responsibility
- Define strategic vision, initiatives and long term goals for the Education programme, in accordance with overall strategic objectives of the Foundation
- Translate programme strategy into clear and results-oriented operational plans, including implementation approach and processes, resource mobilization requirements, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, milestones and deliverables, timelines, budget, etc.
- Conceptualise, develop, implement and manage new long-term projects and initiatives
- Manage existing projects and initiatives in key thematic areas under the education programme, and enhance their impact and scale
- Build and cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders including government bodies, and national and international development agencies, and provide leadership and guidance for multiple partnership projects (with state, national and international funding agencies)
- Work closely with other senior leaders to enable learning and synergies across Reliance Foundations programmes
Programme Implementation and Operations
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of interventions and projects through optimal utilisation of resources and budgets
- Review, monitor and provide critical timely feedback to project teams
- Ensure collaboration, alignment and leveraging from group businesses for fast tracking the delivery of programmes
- Manage liaisons and partnerships with partner organizations and internal departments
- Collaborate with M&E and Communications teams on development and delivery of documentation and communication of impact, key lessons and insights etc. from initiatives to various internal and external stakeholders, as required
Team management and development
- Lead, manage and develop team working on diverse education projects and initiatives
Experience & Educational Requirements
- Post Graduate degree in education, development, public policy, or other relevant discipline
Other Requirements
- At least 20 years of relevant professional experience in leading programmes for development/social impact organisations, or in the education sector, or in strategy consulting or entrepreneurial roles
- At least 5 years of experience leading teams to deliver strong results within a positive work culture
Desirable
- Experience using technology-based strategies
- Strategic acumen, with the ability to identify and design high-potential opportunities based on evidence informed analysis
- Strong subject matter expertise and holistic understanding of issues in the education sector, built through track record of experience in the sector
- Familiarity with key trends, challenges and opportunities in the sector, especially the potential of leveraging technology for enhancing access to and quality of education
- Proven experience in leadership/ managerial positions
- Demonstrated success in designing, operationalizing and managing innovative programs
- Sound program management skills managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs resulting in measurable successes and growth
- Ability to multi-task, and manage multiple complex projects, with a flexible attitude towards changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience developing and managing effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage, develop and motivate individuals and teams to work collaboratively and effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to establish a strong sense of purpose, high standards and a sense of urgency for self and others
