About Us:

North South Foundation (NSF) is a volunteer driven non-profit organization working in the education domain since 1989 in USA, and in India since 2004. The Indian operation is headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana.  NSF’s mission is to support students to achieve academic excellence and leadership skills. 

NSF USA supports students in the US in winning the Scripps National Spelling Bee, US National Science Bee, National Geographic GeoBee, and other contests. 

In India NSF is implementing a scholarship program for supporting the higher education of bright but economically disadvantaged students. Further, NSF India is implementing the NSF Creative Learning & Leadership (NCL) education initiative which is an assessment driven student learning improvement program. It is being implemented across India in about 1000 schools and supporting about 80,000 students. For students studying in grades VI to XII of Government Schools, NCL supports the student’s learning journey, free of cost. The online assessment platform developed by NCL provides analytical dashboards and reports for tracking student, subject, and school level performance. 

Objective: 

The Fundraising Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Managing Trustee, NSF Board and COO of NCL in planning and executing the organization’s fundraising strategy. This role focuses on identifying new fundraising opportunities, managing donor relationships, and ensuring the success of fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Writing & Proposal Development:
    • Craft compelling grant proposals and solicitations to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and individuals.
    • Track submission timelines and ensure the quality and accuracy of all proposals.
  • Donor Relations:
    • Build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, and other key stakeholders.
    • Provide regular updates and relevant information to existing and prospective donors.
    • Maintain precise records of all donations and ensure appropriate recognition of donors.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration:
    • Work closely with various departments to align fundraising efforts with the organization’s overall strategy and goals.
    • Coordinate with the Operations team to meet additional requirements, such as volunteering, in collaboration with fundraising activities.
  • Research & Opportunity Identification:
    • Continuously scan the environment to identify and research new fundraising opportunities.
    • Conduct in-depth research on potential donors and apply for funding opportunities in a timely and high-quality manner.
  • Strategic Growth:
    • Collaborate with the Managing Trustee, NSF Board and COO of NCL to drive the growth of donations in alignment with the organization’s needs.
    • Focus on retaining and expanding relationships with existing donors.
  • Communications
    • Acquire a deep understanding of NSF Scholarships and NCL educational initiatives,objectives, activities and practices.
    • Develop effective communication material, appropriate presentation decks,annual reports, flyers,brochures, storylines, social media messages and visibility for NSF work in digital and other channels.
    • Organize events, meetings, interactive sessions and overall ensure effective communication with                                                                   various stakeholders, including donors, school administrators, Government Officers, etc.
  • Compliance & Administration:
    • Adhere to all company policies, including those related to leave, administration, and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Preferable in the education space
  • Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, grant writing, or a related field.
  • Passion: A strong commitment to the education of the underprivileged is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.
    • Ability to convey ideas effectively through presentations, images, and documents.
    • Experience in Canva, MS office suite is preferable.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and  written communication skills.
  • Learning & Motivation: Quick learner with a high level of self-motivation.
  • Personal Attributes: Integrity and strong social intelligence.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in reading,writing and spoken English. Fluency in spoken Hindi and Telugu preferred.

Compensation:

The Fundraising Associate position offers a competitive salary in the range of ₹5-7 lakhs per annum CTC, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
