ABOUT AWEKSHA
Aweksha (‘Care’ in Sanskrit), is a Bengaluru-based women’s trust that works on issues of gender-based violence, with particular emphasis on domestic violence. Our core areas of work are crisis intervention, burns care, research, advocacy, training and outreach. We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic and creative individuals for the position of Fundraising and Communications Coordinator.
ABOUT THE ROLE
1) This is a full-time role based in Bengaluru. The selected candidate must be willing to start as soon as possible, and they will be reporting to the President of the organisation.
2) As Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, you will: Develop a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the NGO's mission and goals.
3) Identify potential sources of funding, and research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other grant-giving organisations.
4) Ensure accurate and timely reporting of fundraising results to management and donors.
5) Develop engaging and persuasive content for various communication channels, including Aweksha’s website and social media platforms, monitor trends, and respond to comments or inquiries.
6) Coordinate with programme teams to gather information and stories about the organisation's projects and impact.
7) Support advocacy initiatives by creating compelling communication materials to influence policymakers, stakeholders, and the public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1) Master's degree in a relevant field such as communications, nonprofit management, etc.
2) Previous experience in fundraising and communications, preferably in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of successfully securing donations and grants.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1) Proficiency in grant writing and prospect research.
2) Strong understanding of ethical fundraising practices, principles, and relevant regulations.
3) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell impactful stories and tailor messages to different audiences. Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and partners.
4) Understanding the issue of gender-based violence is a must.
REMUNERATION - INR 6,00,000/- per annum.
