International Kidney Cancer Coalition (IKCC)
The International Kidney Cancer Coalition (IKCC) is seeking a visionary and experienced Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity to helm a global patient organisation dedicated to promoting the values and goals of the kidney cancer community worldwide.
Every year, an estimated 431,000 people worldwide will be diagnosed with kidney cancer, highlighting the urgent need for effective advocacy and support.
The IKCC is an independent, international network of patient organisations focusing exclusively on kidney cancer. Legally incorporated as a Foundation in the Netherlands, the IKCC comprises 53 affiliate members and is governed by a volunteer skill-based Board of Directors with representatives from at least four countries. The IKCC is committed to enabling kidney cancer patient groups to network, cooperate, and share resources, knowledge, and experiences globally.
As the head of the IKCC, the Executive Director will provide visionary leadership and set the strategic direction in collaboration with the Board of Directors,ensuring the IKCC's mission and objectives are achieved. The role will oversee the management and execution of strategic goals, business plans, programs, and activities. Financial sustainability and viability are crucial, as is optimising the management of human and financial resources.
The Executive Director will build the global network, profile, and reputation of the organisation within the international kidney cancer community, drive high quality multi-stakeholder engagement, and foster a positive, inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and excellence.
The successful candidate should have:
- Proven and substantial experience as an Executive Director / CEO for a nonprofit, charity, or patient advocacy organisation managing operations or large programs successfully. Relevant and proven senior / executive leadership experience from industry will also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated experience in a range of income generation strategies/partnerships.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems, with a preference for experience in policy/patient advocacy work, lived patient experience, or a deep empathy and understanding of patient perspectives.
- Strong track record working at an international level, coordinating across diverse cultures and healthcare environments.
- Degree/Diploma in a relevant discipline
