Post: District Project Managers (Gender-Based Violence Specialists)

About the organisation
Vipla Foundation (Legal Name: Save The Children India) is seeking a passionate and self-driven District Program Manager for its Project, “To Bring About Equitable and Informed Participation in Justice Process by Women and Girls Who Have Suffered Sexual Violence”, in Pune, Thane and Nashik.
The 12-month project is about extending all the relevant support services to victims of sexual violation (adults and children) to enable their informed participation in the justice process and strive to build sustainability of support services in Pune, Thane and Nashik.
Position Requirement:
A candidate having a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the related field holding a degree in Law or a Master’s degree in Social Work and who is a specialist is gender-based violence would be preferred. Candidates with demonstrated expertise on assisting sex-trafficking and POCSO victims would be an added advantage. The assignment offers excellent opportunity for learning and growth, stakeholder-engagement and building hands-on experience on enforcement of rights and legal remedies for victims of sexual violation.
The shortlisted candidate will be working closely with the Head Office Team of Vipla Foundation at Mumbai to ensure that all project activities and schedules are timely achieved on ground.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaison with government Protective Home/CWC for extending support services to victims of sexual violence.
- Extending Legal Process Orientation to victims of sexual violence to enable their informed participation in legal justice processes.
- Assisting the victims of sexual violence to access compensation and support them in the process by coordinating with the DLSA and other agencies.
- Accompanying/assisting the victims during medical examination, court appearances and other allied assistance in relation to their participation in justice process.
- Organising Workshop for Police in conjunction with Head Office Team and
undertaking relevant coordination for the same. - Regular visits, coordination and communication with the Government Protective
Home Personnel, Survivors, DLSA, Police, Prosecutor and CWC for case update and follow-up. - Conducting bi-annual stakeholder meetings in conjunction with Head Office Team to build convergence.
- Follow-up with Survivors after their restoration with families and update them on the case progress and enable their participation in justice process.
- Documentation of Reports and Data Management through specially designed tools to track project deliverables.
- Any other relevant task in furtherance of project objectives.
The skills required for the position are:
- Focussed, with a rights-based and empathetic approach towards victims of sexual violence.
- Ability to undertake multi-level coordination
- Good Communication Skills-both oral and written.
- Pro-activeness –Ability to self-start things and operate independently.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent computer skills, including MS Office.
- Good documentation skills, coordination, communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
- Willingness to travel as per requirement of the project.
Remuneration:
The Salary would be Rs. 30,000 per month + travel allowance on actual basis.
The post is offered on contract basis for 12 Months which can be renewed on the basis of performance and which is contingent upon project continuation/renewal.
