Schools Group Department
The Schools Group is the core of NewGlobe. This department ensures the implementation of our expert teams' work, including Instructional Design, Leadership & Development, Technology, Communications, and Insight. Schools Group is responsible for day-to-day management, ensuring every school delivers improved learning outcomes and is regarded as the strongest in its neighborhood. Our team engages with school leaders and teachers daily, providing ongoing professional development, performance management, and intensive coaching. We are performance-driven, measuring success through increased learning outcomes, enrollment, and community engagement.
About The Role
Title: Director of Schools
Location: Shillong, Meghalaya
Reports To: Managing Director and VP Schools
The Director of Schools is responsible for the overall performance management of schools in your territory. This includes school management, academic programming, staff development, regulatory compliance, and community engagement. You will oversee the integrated delivery of all programs in each school, ensuring data-driven performance and continuous improvement. Your role is crucial in driving academic excellence, student retention, and community trust.
Key Responsibilities
- School Management: Ensure the success of schools by achieving excellence in management metrics, learning outcomes, and community engagement.
- Supervision: Manage Regional Managers, L&D Managers, and Academic Managers to deliver on KPIs and ensure each school meets its learning and development goals.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data from multiple sources to ensure robust academic programming, adherence to guidelines, and outsized learning outcomes.
- On-Site Engagement: Spend 20% of your time in schools, observing teaching practices, management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Event Support: Collaborate on school events, such as opening celebrations, parent-teacher conferences, and co-curricular competitions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local and national regulations, including environmental and social standards.
- Staff Development: Oversee professional development sessions for Supervisors and support school staff transitions.
- Community Engagement: Work with local government, teacher training centers, and organizations to support staff recruitment and community involvement.

- Proven experience in management and leadership, especially in field-based roles.
- Strong belief in data-driven decision-making and a relentless focus on achievement.
- Experience in school management is a plus.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a bias toward action.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
