Climate Secure
The Role:
Climate Secure wants to team up with a motivated and enthusiastic individual to execute the development of various carbon offset projects in compliance with the relevant carbon standards (The Gold Standard, VERRA, GCC, CDM, Paris Agreement Article 6 etc.). The primary responsibility of the individual shall be to work with the Project Lead in delivering projects as per project plan and scope. This shall require the individual to be fully up to date with latest rules/ protocol governing various carbon mechanisms. The role will focus on review and approval of Project Design Documents (PDDs) and Monitoring Reports, from relevant regulatory authorities.
Furthermore, in line with the requirements for evaluating carbon projects, the individual must oversee project audits (validation and verification activities). It will be vital for the individual to ensure the project performance in accordance with the applicable rules and meeting all time bound compliances. International travel may be required hence a valid passport is imperative.
The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan for baseline studies and coordinate surveys where required
- Draft and prepare PDDs and monitoring reports
- Keep up-to-date with the latest rulings from carbon regulatory bodies (CDM, GS, VCS GCC etc.) and apply this knowledge to carbon project development process
- Risk assessment of monitoring data to ensure smooth issuances.
- Supervise validation/verification processes, especially with remote/on-site audits
- Any other task as decided from time to time to move the projects forward
Desired Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering / Renewable Energy / Energy Management / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering
(Experience in the Mangrove /Biochar is mandatory)
Desired Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Fluency in English is must, French and/or Spanish would be added advantage
- Ability to review and finalize documentation
- Strong educational background
- Data analysis skills using MS Excel
Remuneration:
- Depending on relevant experience, performance in the selection process and industry norms
