About the Organization
The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) J-PAL was established in 2003 as a research center at the Economics Department at MIT. Since then, it has grown into a global network of researchers who use randomized evaluations to answer critical policy questions in the fight against poverty. J-PAL is propelled by a team dedicated to research, policy, training, and other vital work, supporting J-PAL's mission to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence.
J-PAL South Asia, the regional office which is based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in India, analyses and disseminates research results and builds partnerships with policymakers to ensure that policy is driven by evidence, and that programs proven effective are scaled up. We have a growing number of partnerships in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for end to end recruitment which includes but is not limited to searching, sourcing, screening candidates and walking them through the hiring process as mentioned below.
- LinkedIn engagement and outreach to target organizations and potential candidates.
- Creating and maintaining a database of applicants.
- Day 0 connects with hiring managers to support the process and shortlisting.
- Creating, maintaining and updating a daily recruitment funnel (with dates) across roles.
- First interest level and screening call with candidates.
- Scheduling written tests for applicants and collecting the results.
- Connecting with Applicants and Hiring Managers to schedule interviews.
- Collecting candidate details, documents and references post the selection process.
- Maintaining and updating recruitment databases. (Scores/Interview Schedules/Internal Transfers/Internships)
- Support with creating and sharing recruitment reports.
Qualifications
Your technical expertise in recruitment, keen eye for detail, strong communication and organizational skills make you an ideal candidate for the position of Policy Associate.
- Education: Candidates with a bachelor’s/master’s degree from different fields can apply, familiarity with HR and Talent Acquisition is preferred.
- Experience: 2.5 to 5.5 years of relevant work experience.
- Communication: You pay attention to detail and are comfortable with creating documentation, notes and briefs, varying in complexity and scope depending upon the purpose. A good intuition to communicate effectively to different kinds of audiences would be ideal.
- Attitude: You are goal oriented and be willing to continuously learn in a rapidly changing field. You are self-motivated, work hard, and enjoy collaborating.
