About Philanthropy Labs
Philanthropy Labs at Dasra is a team that works on strengthening India’s family philanthropy infrastructure and ecosystem to accelerate equitable giving for India’s most marginalized communities. The team focusses on building networks and communities of practice of philanthropists (HNIs/UHNIs/Billionaires), driving narrative change around family philanthropy and incubating new ideas to accelerate family giving in India.
The team in recent years has launched a network called GivingPi (www.givingpi.org), India’s first and exclusive family philanthropy network of its kind, for leading philanthropic families to learn, share and collaborate with each other. GivingPi, incubated under the aegis of Dasra, aims to be a one-stop hub to support families within the network on all their philanthropy focussed needs, while also providing access to bespoke advisory, events, peer networking and knowledge & insights that aims to accelerate their giving journeys.
Summary of Responsibilities
The candidate will have a unique opportunity to support philanthropic endeavours of leading families both in India and globally, adding value to their giving journeys and enabling learning and collaboration to drive social impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Relationship Managers of GivingPi to support the creation of engagement and impact strategies for families within the GivingPi network.
- Conduct research and sector landscape studies on diverse sectors through secondary research and draw insights for strategic decision-making for advancing philanthropic pursuits of families.
- Help connect the dots between the needs of the non-profit sector and aspirations of philanthropic families.
- Coordinate the management of relationships with GivingPi families and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with different GivingPi team members to identify relevant learning opportunities and resources for families to enhance their exposure to and understanding of strategic philanthropy.
- Contribute towards creating new pathways for engaging with and driving impact for GivingPi families.
- Contribute to data entry, management and analysis across multiple platforms.
Skills Required
- Written & Communication skills: Begins to draw linkages from content to insight and frameworks and communicates a compelling narrative with some, but minimal guidance. S/he is able to create robust presentations, concept notes and collaterals as required for diverse project requirements.
- Project Management: Begins to execute and manage the project with high efficiency and quality while adhering to deadlines.
- Relationship Management: Engages external and internal stakeholders with trust and confidence and is able to manage relationships towards several goals/ projects/ deliverables.
- Research & Data Analytics: Links several secondary and primary insights and data results across themes, form compelling narratives and provide market intelligence for strategic decision-making.
- Entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness and ability to be well-organised and manage time efficiently, build systems and processes, bring structure, as well as think and act creatively in a resource-constrained environment. The candidate should have the ability to deal with ambiguity and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- An analytical approach to solving problems while having a solution oriented mindset.
- Adept at scoping out complex tasks and projects and an ability to break down process steps.
- Exposure to and interest in the Indian socio-economic and demographic trends, philanthropic trends and practices, and knowledge of philanthropy landscape would be a definite advantage.
- Experience in the development sector and/or experience in engaging with funders will be an added advantage.
