Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis on climate change policies, trends, and best practices at local, national, and international levels.
- Support the development and implementation of climate action plans, projects and initiatives, including but not limited to renewable energy deployment and carbon mitigation strategies.
- Assess climate vulnerability, impacts and derive adaptation strategies at various levels (local, state and national).
- Collaborate with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to advocate for effective climate policies and programs.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to communities, businesses, and institutions seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and enhance resilience to climate impacts and vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to the writing of reports, policy briefs, and other communication materials to support fundraising and advocacy efforts.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in climate science, technology, and policy, and share knowledge with colleagues and partners.
- Represent CEED in relevant forums, conferences, and meetings to promote our mission and build strategic partnerships.
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in environmental science, climate studies, sustainability, public policy, or related field. A PhD degree is preferred for a senior position.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in climate change mitigation, adaptation, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of climate science, policy frameworks, and international agreements such as the Paris Agreement.
- Experience in conducting research, data analysis, and preparing reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and build relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of GIS, statistical analysis, or other technical tools is desirable but not required.
- Commitment to CEED’s mission and values, including a dedication to environmental sustainability and social justice.
Salary:
- Salary is negotiable and at par with the industry
