The Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS), co-founded by philanthropist Ashish Dhawan and economist Karthik Muralidharan in 2019, is dedicated to improving millions of lives by enhancing the effectiveness of Indian state governments. CEGIS focuses on evidence-based governance and public expenditure reforms, working closely with state governments to drive impactful change. We operate in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in Assam, and Delhi, with plans to expand further.
Position Summary
Join CEGIS as the AVP - Human Resources, where you will play a pivotal role in driving transformational change through strategic HR leadership. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources and working closely with our Founders, you'll shape and implement talent strategies that align with CEGIS's mission to improve governance and service delivery in India. Key Responsibilities
- Organizational Design and Development:
- Collaborate with leadership to design and implement organizational structures that align with strategic goals.
- Lead change management processes to ensure smooth transitions within the organization.
- Develop and implement competency frameworks to support talent management, including recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.
- Culture Enhancement:
- Conduct culture assessments to identify organizational strengths and areas for improvement.
- Lead initiatives to foster a positive organizational culture, ensuring alignment with CEGIS’s values.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion programs to create a welcoming and inclusive workplace.
- Leadership Training and Development:
- Design and deliver leadership development programs tailored to address skill gaps and enhance leadership competencies.
- Provide coaching and support to senior leaders to optimize team performance.
- Learning and Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive learning and development programs based on organizational needs.
- Utilize innovative learning approaches and technology to enhance the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Compensation and Benefits Optimization:
- Conduct compensation benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages.
- Design strategies to optimize compensation and benefits programs, enhancing CEGIS's employee value proposition.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field from a top-tier institution.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience, with expertise in people management, operational efficiency, and strategic problem-solving.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop tailored HR solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in organizational design, change management, and culture transformation.
- Background in high-growth startups or as an HR Business Partner (HRBP) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
