Climate and Sustainability Initiative

About

The Climate and Sustainability Initiative (CSI) registered in Singapore is an international organisation, dedicated to the crucial task of decarbonising the economies of Asia and Africa. CSI’s primary focus involves conducting comprehensive research and implementing strategic programs within the power, transport, industrial, and financial sectors. Our efforts will be instrumental in facilitating funding mechanisms that drive the transition toward sustainability.

CSI’s work is broadly focused on solution design, development and implementation, supporting pilots on the ground for the broader adoption of technologies and solutions, etc. Beyond these aspects, on a need basis, around the gaps identified, the development and housing of implementation support facilities and programs aimed at helping underserved stakeholders in their decarbonisation journey is the modus operandi.

The CSI is seeking an Analyst with interdisciplinary proficiency in clean energy and finance. The ideal candidate should be proficient in corporate finance and financial statement analysis. The Analyst will be expected to take initiatives towards advancing the objectives of the CSI. This is an intellectually challenging environment, with a focus on research rigour, innovative thinking, and strategic outreach. We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join this new venture.

The Analyst will be tasked with

  • Performing rigorous quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Undertaking financial analysis to assess the value added or potential value added within the different sectors and sub-sectors.
  • Writing high-quality research pieces – papers, presentations, policy briefs etc.

The successful applicant will be responsible for understanding technical, business, financial, and regulatory trends and should be able to successfully capture them quantitatively and qualitatively. The applicant will be expected to reach out to organizations (government and private) and sectoral experts to gauge the reasons behind a specific trend. Such analysis is then expected to be used by policymakers to frame guidelines/policies for government, investors, and industries to make important decisions. The Analyst’s work is expected to feed into the final outputs of CSI, which would assist decision-makers in the public and private sectors.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the Analyst should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities and respond to unanticipated events and developments.
