Chronicles of women's leadership and gender equity at work

“Most of us remain silent about the daily dehumanisations of women in the forms of sexist jokes, slut shaming, justifications of the wage gap, and the constant discounting of experiences of women. As a result, we have become experts in ignoring issues facing women and, in turn, have let the foundations of integrity erode.”
- Matt McGorry, Actor and Activist

#IWIL: Celebrating Phenomenal Women
While Valentine's Day filled the air with love, EquiLead chose to celebrate incredible women who are paving the way for others. We kickstarted the #IWIL Campaign during Galentine's Week and asked our network to raise a glass to these phenomenal women who have inspired them through their own journey.
The aim of the campaign was to spotlight and recognise impactful women who left an indelible mark in people’s career journeys. Visibility matters and empowers! While the campaign concluded in the month of International Women’s Day with phenomenal response, we urge you to continue this and appreciate the women who have left an indelible mark on your careers through a LinkedIn shout out by tagging EquiLead with #IWIL #LeadWithEquity

EquiLead Showcase: Bitiya Murmu, Lahanti
In our first EquiLead Showcase, we spotlight Lahanti, a grassroots organisation working in Jharkhand. Meet Bitiya Murmu, the Founding Member & Secretary of Lahanti, as she takes us on a journey through their mission and the challenges they face in their quest to empower tribal women to create a more prosperous socio-economic landscape. Established in 2006, Lahanti has managed to impact 1.5 individuals directly and indirectly. It has nurtured 150 men, women and youth as community leaders through its work across six districts of Jharkhand.
With EquiLead Showcase, we aim to bring you stories of women leaders and organisations who are bringing change from the ground up through their efforts of women empowerment. These are stories of impact and the lives that have changed through the grassroots movement that organisations like Lahanti or leaders like Ms. Murmu bring.

Navigating Pathways to Women’s Leadership in Law and Economics
EquiLead, in collaboration with Co-Impact, has embarked on research studying how organisations action women's professional leadership in law and economics, with a specific focus on the development, social impact, and the private sectors.
As a part of this study, we recently convened the first of our roundtable series “Navigating Pathways to Women’s Leadership in Law and Economics” in Mumbai. The event was designed as an avenue to present findings from our research study, spark discussion, and garner insights in the presence of distinguished leaders from the Law and Economics sectors who joined us. Perspectives were shared on challenges faced by women in both sectors which are traditionally male-dominated, as well as institutional courses of action for a systemic change.
We are coming to Delhi and Bengaluru next!
If you are a thought leader, organisational decision maker or GEDI expert who wishes to contribute to research and dialogue on accelerating women's leadership pathways in law and economics, then reach out to pritha@equilead.org.
If you are a woman professional from the field of law and economics and want to participate in our research, please take the survey below and share your valuable insights with us. Your experiences and perspectives will greatly help our study.
