Overview of the Role


IPE Global’s Social and Economic Empowerment practice works towards building girl capital, empowering women and nurturing resilient communities by creating inclusive and sustainable solutions including but not limited to policy development, capacity building, adaptive management, community mobilisation, behavioural change communication, deepening social safety nets, beneficiary feedback analysis, poverty assessment, and evidence-based monitoring. Programs implemented by SEE have successfully demonstrated the use Social and Behaviour change communication to influence nutrition and health seeking behaviours and practices that have a lasting impact on the overall well-being of women and children. To consolidate the learnings from these interventions and apply them across a variety of programs and solutions, IPE Global is seeking a skilled professional who has exceptional understanding in strategies, frameworks and tools related to SBC and have successfully applied the same in large scale programs. The specialist will be responsible for providing overall technical assistance for design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SBCC strategies.

Job Description


Technical Assistance
• Develop, Design and/or Inform communication & behavior change strategy for national programs related to maternal and child health and nutrition while conducting an objective appraisal of the existing policies, interventions and tools.
• Guide formative studies to contextual SBC strategies for states
• Provide support to the state teams in operationalizing of existing or newly formed SBC strategies
• Provide guidance in documenting lessons learned, process documentation and case studies
• Inputs in developing, testing and finalizing content and modules, as required for national programs and state specific initiatives ensuring their localization and integration with existing state platforms and tools.
• Ensure the developed products are customized for the specific geographies and target audience
• Oversee and guide the creative production of innovative content formats like e-books, podcasts, infographics, digital films, animation gifs, viral videos etc.
• Organize capacity building and training in IEC/BCC approaches as required for stakeholders at all levels.

Monitoring and Reporting
• Work closely with the M&E teams to establish monitoring mechanisms and define KPIs that identify the impact of SBC activities
• Create a regular reporting structure to present insights from various platforms.
• Analyze campaign/intervention performance to optimize KPIs constantly.

External engagement
• Liaise with National and State Government on finalizing creatives and leveraging funds for mass production and rollout
• Liaise with partner organizations, and state staff on strategy and for development of quality outputs.
• Support in organizing learning forums, dissemination workshops, meetings, special events, etc.
• As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the specialist may be required to undertake other duties as determined by the Senior leadership that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.


Required & Preferred Qualifications


Skill

• Strong understanding of participatory communication design.
• Ability to influence diverse actors - government, civil society and communities.
• Proven expertise in monitoring and evaluating activities based on applied communication research.
• Good knowledge of best practices and innovations related to community engagement
• Experience in handling mass media campaigns related to development issues.
• Strong writing abilities and communication capacity.
• Excellent command of English and Hindi language, both written and oral.
• Ability to translate data / information into a comprehensive narrative for multiple audiences.
• Adept at setting up and managing digital campaigns (Google AdWords, Facebook Ads Manager etc.)

Desirable
• Good sectoral understanding of Maternal & Child Nutrition and Public Health programmes.
• Preference will be given to those who have experience working on large scale development programs.

Education

Post graduate degree in Marketing, Communication, Social Science or similar fields.

Experience

At least 15 years of experience in designing and implementing social and behavioral change communication.
