Overview of the Role
The Project Manager will ensure the overall leadership, strategic planning, donor compliance, technical oversight, and monitoring of the Natural Resource Management project. The role requires strong understanding of watershed/NRM engineering, community development, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
Job Description
Strategic Leadership & Planning:
• Lead overall implementation of the 36-month NRM project as per the approved proposal.
• Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly implementation plans.
• Coordinate with HDFC Bank CSR team for compliance and reporting.
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance:
• Oversee planning and quality verification of NRM structures such as:
o check dam desiltation
o recharge shaft construction
o dug well renovation
o farm pond excavation
o micro-irrigation systems
o solar-powered irrigation units
• Ensure environmental, safety, and technical guidelines are followed.
• Approve measurements, contractor bills, and technical documentation.
Governance, Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build strong relationships with Panchayats, Tribal Development Dept., Agriculture Dept., KVK, and Water Resources Dept.
• Facilitate village-level governance structures and ensure participatory implementation.
• Support sustainability plans for tool banks, water user groups, and asset maintenance.
Capacity Building & Agriculture Development:
• Oversee training calendar, IEC development, exposure visit plans, and extension activities.
• Ensure integration of nutrition-sensitive agriculture and climate-resilient practices.
Monitoring, Reporting & Donor Compliance:
• Lead baseline, MIS tracking, progress monitoring, and impact documentation.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports and presentations for donors and trustees.
• Ensure setup of field monitoring systems, GPS tagging, photos, and data validation.
• Conduct regular field reviews and team meetings.
Other Duties: Undertake additional duties as directed by the Reporting Manager, ensuring alignment with the organizational objectives and vision, thereby contributing to the overall mission of the organization.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree preferred: Agriculture, Water Resource Management, Rural Development, Environmental Science, Social Work.
