Overview of the Role
Lead the strategic planning, deployment, and evaluation of AI-driven health solutions across state health systems. Oversee cross-functional teams, provide technical assistance, and build capacity within health departments. Drive stakeholder engagement, monitor program impact, and guide ethical, data-informed decision-making. Ensure seamless integration of AI tools to strengthen public health outcomes while mentoring teams and aligning efforts with state health priorities.
Job Description
1.Program Leadership and Oversight:
• Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of AI-driven health solutions across state health departments.
• Coordinate and ensure the successful deployment of AI technologies to address critical health program needs, including disease prevention, health surveillance, resource allocation, and population health management.
• Collaborate with state health department leadership to understand priorities and provide strategic guidance on program implementation and health system strengthening.
• Provide leadership, technical direction, and mentorship to a cross-functional team of program officers and AI specialists.
2. Technical Assistance and Capacity Building:
• Provide ongoing technical assistance to state health departments for effective deployment of AI tools, with a focus on systems integration, data management, and workflow optimization.
• Design and deliver training programs for health department staff on AI technologies, data-driven decision-making, and the use of digital health tools.
• Facilitate workshops, webinars, and other knowledge-sharing activities to promote AI literacy and strengthen the capacity of health professionals.
3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with state health officials, technology vendors, academic partners, and other stakeholders to ensure successful program implementation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all state-level program activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Work closely with policy experts and stakeholders to advocate for integrating AI solutions into state health initiatives and strategies.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
• Monitor program progress, ensuring milestones are achieved and timelines are met.
• Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of AI solutions in meeting health program objectives.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports, performance metrics, and impact assessments to leadership and stakeholders.
5.AI Strategy and Program Improvement:
• Lead the strategic development and refinement of AI solutions tailored to specific health program needs, ensuring alignment with state health priorities.
• Analyze data and feedback from AI deployments to identify areas for improvement and optimize health program outcomes.
• Ensure that AI solutions are implemented ethically, transparently, and responsibly, in compliance with relevant regulations and privacy standards.
6.Team Management:
• Supervise and mentor a team of program officers and AI specialists, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
• Provide regular guidance, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities to team members.
• Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary resources and skills to deploy AI solutions successfully and support health program strengthening efforts.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Proven expertise in deploying AI-driven or digital health solutions in healthcare or public health settings.
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex public health challenges.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with a track record of ensuring timely program execution.
• Willingness to travel frequently to engage with state health departments and oversee program implementation.
Education
Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, or an equivalent field.
Experience
8+ years of experience in public health programs, health system strengthening, or digital health solutions. Prior experience working with state health departments, government agencies, or public health organizations (highly preferred).
