Overview of the Role
Azim Premji Foundation is seeking bright and committed professionals for its Livelihood Initiative focused on Livestock-based livelihoods in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. As a Resource Person – Livelihoods (Livestock), you will play a key role in integrating livelihood operations and providing thematic and technical support to field teams across the states.
Job Description
• Support district/block leaders in integrating livestock-based livelihood programs at sub-district and district levels.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement at community, block, district, and state levels.
• Build the capacities of field teams across states on livestock themes.
• Develop thematic projects, design action plans, and facilitate implementation.
• Anchor content development and thematic learning within livelihood initiatives.
• Track field-based pilots, document results, and build evidence from practice.
• Mobilize program finances and coordinate with key stakeholders.
• Provide problem-solving support for on-ground thematic challenges.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Skill
• Prior work experience in the central tribal belt region preferred.
• Fluency: Hindi and English (knowledge of local language desirable).
• Candidates not from the development sector but keen to contribute to livelihoods work in rural areas may also be considered.
Education
Master’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or related Livestock fields with minimum 3 years of full-time relevant experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in similar fields with minimum 5 years of full-time relevant experience.
Experience
• Experience in livestock program management or agri-livestock livelihood interventions is required. • Experience with goat husbandry or pastoralist communities will be an advantage.
